We recorded our last gig at the Gorse Hill Club and are currently picking 10-12 tracks to put together as a live album. This is work in progress but expect to see us plugging this soon.
We are doing our bit for the local community and charity during July. We start the month playing to the crowds at the Brunel 200 event (see the gig guide). At the end of the month we have been asked to play the NABD festival! (also see the gig guide). We hope to see you there and as usual we will be around for a few drinks as well. Lets just hope for a nice summer this year.
Well we have a couple of great support slots coming up. On the 5th August we are supporting a reformed Marshall Law. On October 22nd we are supporting those stalwarts of british rock Budgie. Also on the list for that night are our old friends 7 Sins - should be a good night all round.
We are through to the finals of the 'Battle of the Bands' at the Little George in Chippenham on the 30th October. Please see the band for tickets or entry is a pound on the door. Well worth it, should be eight great bands on the night including yours truly. We missed winning our heat final by one point so expect us to turn up the heat as we glide towards the th(f)irst prize of a large wad of beer tokens.
We have been asked back to Riffs Bar. this time we are taking our friends 'The Saints' with us and therefore should be a good night. By the way have I mentioned that riffs do good curries and panini's - and if I give enough plugs will Andy give me a freebie. Anyway for some of the best original music in Swindon, some of the best beer in Swindon and a decent bit of nosh get down to Riffs and join in the fun on May 19th..
We have been asked to support Paradox at Area 51 on the 19th April. Should be an interesting gig, nuff said.
We came, we saw, we played our socks of... Broadside played our part at the second heat of the 'Battle of the Bands' and what a night. The expected winners blew out and we failed to gain that spot in the final at the beginning of April. Our congratulations though must go to 'The Saints' who with a commercial sounding set and to be quite frank, nice band uniforms, stole the vote on the night. So to Matty and the rest of 'The Saints', best of luck with the finals. We will be playing a couple of gigs with 'The Saints' over the next couple of months, so come and see two of the best that Swindon has to offer.
The Saints have asked us to join them as support at their 3rd June gig at The Vic in Old Town, Swindon. The Saints are good mates of ours so expect a good evening to be had by all.
Well we got our first gig under our belt and fun was had by all. Danny, our drummer, was grinning like a cat who had got the cream as this was his first gig, in how many years! too many. Also we would like to thank Full Fat Milk for the support slot and wish them all the luck in the future.
Our first Gig. Riffs Bar, Greatfield nr Purton have decided they will let us play our first gig there. Well someone had to. We are joined by up and coming Punksters 'Full Fat Milk'.
Broadside have entered the Swindon Battle of the Bands. The heats should be taking place at the Queens Tap and we will let you know as soon as we do what date(s) we are playing. Get down there and support us - you know it makes sense!!!
